What's my username and password?

Your username is your student ID number and your password is chosen at your Cal Connect session. If you attended Cal Connects and have forgotten your password see an Academic Services Assistant in the center for help resetting it.

I forgot my password

You will need to create a new password and have an ASA set that as your new password.

How do I buy printing pages?

Log in to the Rescomp website and click the link to buy printing pages. You can buy 200 pages for $5.00 plus 50 free buffer pages in case of any printing errors or other problems. The fee is charged to your CARS account.

Can I only buy 10 pages? (Do I have to buy 250 pages?)

You can only purchase 250 pages at a time.

I sent my print job to the printer, how come it isn't printing?

First ensure that you have enough pages to print. You can view how many pages you have left or purchase more pages by logging into Rescomp.

Can I use the computers if I don't live in this unit?

Yes! If you are a resident of one of the residence halls and have set up your account there you have access to any of the Academic Services Centers in any of the residence halls. This includes printing at any of the centers.

My computer is broken. What do I do?

Our Residential Computing Consultants can help you fix any technical problems with your laptop or desktop. If you have a laptop you can bring it to the office hours of an RCC in your unit (see the Rescomp website for hours). If you have a laptop or a desktop you can also make an appoint at the Rescomp website for an RCC to come to your room to fix the problem or you can call the help desk at (510) 642-HELP (510 642 4357) between the hours of 9:00AM and 5:00PM Monday - Friday.

Can I use my printing pages from the library here?

Unfortunately your printing account at the ASC only works in one of the five Academic Services Centers. However, our staff would be happy to show you the location of the other centers or point you to an on campus computing facility.

My document isn't printing. Help!

First, check your account on the Rescomp website and make sure you have enough printing pages to print your whole document. If you do have enough pages but you are trying to print a large PDF file it may take extra time as PDF files usually print slower than other file formats. If neither of these is the case ask an ASA for help.

Where can I checkout a Laptop?

Macbook laptop checkouts are currently available at Unit 3 and Clark Kerr. You must be a resident of either Unit 3 or Clark Kerr to be eligible for this service. To register for this service, please present your UC Berkeley Student ID as well as Driver's License to an ASA who will provide you with the registration forms.

I just printed a multi paged document and it only printed out the first page?

If you are printing a PDF try first saving the PDF onto the desktop and reprinting. If that doesn't work you will need to print it one page at a time. Sorry.

When are RCC office hours?

The RCC office hours are located on the RCC bulletin board as well as the sign located on the ASC front desk.

Can I use the study rooms?

Of course! They operate on a first-come-first-served basis and are unlocked using your room key.
