Aly Wong Tutoring Supervisor Hi everybody! I am a fourth year English major, but I plan on applying to medical school or pharmacy school. I am a second year Political Economy of Industrial Societies major (PEIS for short) at Cal. I am originally from San Jose, CA. I enjoy watching movies and reading a wide variety of different kinds of things. I occasionally read philosophy essays as a hobby and enjoy discussing different philosophers and theories. Jen Lee Tutor Hey Bears! My name is Jen, and I am a third-year business major and a potential PEIS minor. When I'm not studying, I love to choreograph and dance for Danceworx, Truelement, and Movement. I spend my free time playing piano, solving crossword puzzles, reading fiction, and adventuring around the world!	Natalie Tsang Tutor I am a fourth year English and History major, with an emphasis on 2nd century provincial Greece. I am originally from Southern California. I believe A. A. Tiffany Huang Tutor Hello! My name is Tiffany, and I’m a fourth year at Cal. I’m a double major in Public Health and French, with a minor in Public Policy. I grew up in Hillsborough, NJ and spent last spring studying abroad in Bordeaux, France. In what spare time I have, I enjoy music, reading, and baking unhealthy but delicious desserts. I look forward to working with you this year!	Jennifer Yang Tutor Hello! I’m a third-year MCB major and English minor from San Diego, CA. I enjoy and appreciate all types of writing, but I have a soft spot for journalism and the Romanticism era. My backup career is to become a pastry chef, but in the mean time, I’m content with baking and cooking in my spare time as well as playing music, going out with friends and embarking on new adventures. I also love singing and dancing in the rain.
Mike Shaffer Tutor Hi, my name is Mike Shaffer and I’m a Sophomore intending a major in English and a minor in philosophy. Like the other writing tutors, I love to read and write. I also enjoy playing bass, playing or watching football and basketball, and watching movies. I would love to help you with any writing assignment, on the day it’s assigned or the day before it’s due. Looking forward to seeing you!	Alex Yuan Tutor Hello! I am a second year at Cal, and I still haven’t decided what my major is yet. But that’s okay, since Environmental Economics and Comparative Literature both sound good right now. I was born in Los Angeles, spent my childhood years in Irvine, and later moved to Shanghai and then Beijing. The stark cultural differences between California and China never fail to amaze me. I love travelling to new places, reading The Economist, admiring (read: drooling over) sushi art, and being with friends and family.
Jim Chin Tutor Jim is a 4th year History major who is specializing in East Asian History, and more specifically China. (Though that’s a pretty big chunk of history to tackle.) When not tutoring, Jim enjoys referring to himself in the third person, acting/theatre (check out Theatre Rice! Modern Asian American Theatre @ www.theatrerice.com), food (particularly the consumption thereof), biking, and reading.
